Aircraft accessories cover a wide range of instruments, mechanisms, and equipment that are used or intended to be used in the operation or control of an aircraft in flight. Perform functional testing of an item for the purpose of identifying the cause of improper operation. We then use this information to determine and advise whether or not the accessory item can be repaired and if the cost to repair is conducive vs. replacement.
Return to service activities are performed on items down to the smallest replaceable part of an item (resistors, valves, clamps, microprocessors, etc.). This increases the probability of returning an item to service.
Complex items such as navigation systems require external stimulation to test/exercise all of the functionality of the item continuously over an extended time period. Automated testing is the solution and provides a way to complete testing with minimal to zero input from human touch.
In order to keep a specific system or part in service you may need to identify replacement parts or systems in advance. Preparing for an inevitable lifespan / degradation due to use commonly requires purchasing and stocking parts, or mitigating a potential issue by repairing items before it becomes critical in nature. In the event a part or system can no longer be repaired, it may be necessary to develop form, fit and function replacements.
